General Performance

Depending on conditions, the Clikstand combined with a good alcohol burner and windscreen will boil one pint (~0.5 L) of water in 5-8 minutes while consuming 0.5-0.8 fl.oz. (15-24 ml/12-19 g) of alcohol fuel or approx. 0.3 oz. (8.5 g) of Esbit solid fuel. Performance of the Clikstand will far exceed that of the Westwind stove under all condtions.

Notes

Many factors affect the performance of alcohol and solid fuel tablet stoves including wind, air temperature, water temperature, fuel temperature, brand of fuel, pot covers etc. The Clikstand has been tested extensively under a wide variety of conditions. Through this testing it has been optimized and is guaranteed to deliver excellent performance with any quality alcohol burner or Esbit solid fuel tablets.

Boil times and fuel consumption values listed above are averages from many tests including actual field results. Test situations included warm conditions, cold conditions, wind, no wind, and high and low altitudes. Water temperature was measured to determine boil time as water will come to a rolling boil before it has actually reached 212ºF (100ºC). Boil times may be shorter if based only on visual "rolling boil" criteria. The Clikstand is made from very thin gauge stainless steel (0.015 in./0.38 mm thick) so it cools rapidly after use.

To determine the correct amount of fuel and water for a given test, an extremely precise scale was used to weigh the liquid since this method is more accurate than using volume measurements which require visual judgement of fluid levels. Weight measurements were then converted to volumes after testing. The same scale was used to determine the stove component weights listed above.
